The name Exægis embodies both rigor and protection. Phonetically close to the word “exigence” (high standards), it also incorporates the term aegis, the Latin and Anglo-Saxon form of “égide”.

In Greek mythology, the aegis (αἰγίς / aigís) is the mythical shield of Zeus, symbolizing sovereign power and invincibility. By extension, it represents protection and guarantee, as reflected in expressions such as “under the aegis of the gods” or “under the aegis of justice”.
